FUTURE TRAINING CENTER

The Mission

The mission of the training center is to be utilized as a Home Base of Operations for the Special Operation Radio Team inc. and to provide Public Safety Explorers & Public Safety Cadets along with Active-Duty Public Safety Officials with specialized training to either advance the knowledge of the Professional Public Safety Official or educate todays’ youth with enthusiasm of become a Public Safety Officials.

The Goals

It shall be the desire of the organization to have a training base to offer specialized training in an array of different public safety & amateur radio classes and to become an institute for advanced learning in these areas. It shall consist of the complete operational network of the S.O.R.T. Command. Becoming the home office for the entire S.O.R.T. Organization.

SORT Training Center in no way implies that we will be connected or represent either the Boy Scout’s Exploring Division or the Public Safety Cadet programs, we operate independently from either organization, we simply offer our facilities for their usage. Law enforcement agencies across the country and foreign public safety agencies should utilize our training center when other facilities are not available to host specialized training or when other training centers are not able to accommodate their needs.

The Vision

We estimate 900 acers of property would consume the necessary elements to host and train law enforcement, fire service and EMS Explorers & Cadets while offering some limited specialized training to each career path of Active-Duty Officials. The Training Center would be a self-contained encampment able to service 2500 cadets for an annual conference and offer them an array of exciting opportunities they would not be able to get at their home agency. The basic layout of the property would serve the needs to all of the different branches and supply the comforts of campus life while attending classes or conferences at the training center.

Expected Costs

Property

$357,000 - 119 acres

Vienna, GA 31092

Dooly County

Gun range

For a very basic, 10 lane range, with a granular rubber trap, safety ceiling, and a ventilation package. You can expect the price tag to be around $350,000, or approximately $35,000 per lane. This price does not reflect the installation costs. An installation of this type of range can add 25% more to the current price, with the cost possibly going to 30% more if there’s and issues with access to the range.

Physical Fitness

For the most part, outdoor fitness equipment costs much less than a playground system. "Expect to spend anywhere from $10,000 to $35,000 on equipment," says Devine, noting that additional components can be purchased individually and installed as funding allows, but a strong base setup is a must. Consideration must be given to the cost of preparing the site of a fitness park, as well.

EVOC Track

Estimated cost of building a track $85,000 initiation fee.

Guard Shack for Entrance

8x12    $12,500

Administrative classrooms

Standard classrooms × 750 – 1,000 sq. ft.Administrative offices × 70 – 100 sq. ft.Nurse’s office or health clinic × 500 – 700 sq. ft. 1000 ft 2 each (4000 square foot building space would include bathrooms, corridors, and closet spaces).  Take the square footage of 4000 and multiply it times $15-20 per square foot – think of the higher end of this scale is for the nicest of units.  Multiply the total square footage by the cost per foot to get a budget for the annual cost of rent only: so, that’s $20 x 4000 sq. ft.  $80,000 in rent. For installation services use $33 per foot ($33 x 4000 sq. ft. = $132,000). For removal use $15 per foot. ($15 x 4000 sq. ft. $60,000) paid upon removal. Total cost for first-year use for 4000 square feet, 4 classrooms, and leftover spaces $272,000. Please note the $20 per foot per year for the rent is for a high-end building.  Also, costs of installation and removal depend heavily on a number of factors to be discussed at a visit to your site.  And finally, the shorter the lease, the higher the per foot rate.

GRAND TOTAL:    $ 971.500
